Valley Transit District
Valley Transit is the public transportation system for the southern Naugatuck Valley, serving the cities of Ansonia, Derby, Seymour and Shelton. Our service is open to all within the district on a shared ride, reservation basis.
Valley Transit District is a public agency that operates a fleet of mini busses on a reserved ride basis. Simply call our dispatching center to schedule your ride from 6:00am-5:30pm*. We operate a shared ride system, during which there may be one or more stops before we deliver you to your destination.
We Operate From 6:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday Through Friday, Except For The Following Holidays
- New Years Day
- Good Friday before Easter
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Friday after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day
*Valley Transit District certified ADA passengers may request a trip using our automated voicemail system if the prior day falls on a weekend or holiday.
Accessibility
Our service is fully accessible for individuals with disabilities and can accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility devices. VTD is committed to providing origin-to-destination service for all riders, and the needs of riders may vary by rider or by situation. VTD service is typically curb-to-curb, however riders may request door-to-door service if needed. This request should be communicated to VTD staff when requesting a trip.

The Valley Transit District operates its services Monday through Friday.
Weekday evenings and Weekends, when VTD is closed, ADA complementary paratransit service is made available to Valley residents through the Greater New Haven Transit District.
